Introduction

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME) is proud to have a more than 30-year history. Founded in 1978, the DME had responsibilities for training engineers in agricultural engineering for the Mekong Delta. Over the period of development, the DME is now training more than 900 students each year with three specialized majors: mechanical design and manufacturingfood processing engineering, and transportation engineering. Teaching staffs in the department increase annually in order to meet the training capacity and the training quality assurance. Equipment for training is comprehensive and quite modern to satisfy the needs of students for practice.

To follow up the knowledge of mechanical science and technology and improve professional qualifications of the staffs, the Department is participating in research cooperation with others universities, institutes, organizations and abroad. In recent years, the Department has made a variety of researches with universities, institutes, international organizations such as: Wageningen University, the University of Delft, University Larenstein ... (Kingdom of the Netherlands); University of Leuven (Belgium), University of Dresden (Germany), Ubon Ratchathani University, Asian Institute of Technology - AIT (Thailand), SEA (UK Luxembourg),   University of La Rochelle (France), etc.

Vision

To be the centre of knowledge and expertise in mechanical engineering in the international level for the benefit of the society and country and produce graduates with outstanding ability and morality.
