As one of the major units of Can Tho University, College of Engineering is responsible for training, international cooperation, conducting research and transferring technology in engineering for the Mekong Delta region and country.

Historical Milestone
- 1977: Faculty of Mechanical - Water AgricultureEngineering, the predecessor of the College of Engineering Technology, was established.
- 1978: Faculty of Mechanical - Water AgricultureEngineeringwas divided into FacultyofMechanical Agriculture Engineering and Facultyof Water Agriculture- Land Improvement.
- 1995: Faculty of Mechanical Agriculture Engineering and Faculty of Water Agriculture - Land Improvement were combined into the College of Engineering Technology.
- 2008: Department of Electronics Telecommunications and Automation Technology Engineering were adhered to the College.
- 2022: College of Engineering
