Educational Objectives of Programme

Knowledge :

  • Effective applying philosophical knowledge and methodology to professional learning.
  • Effectively applying in-depth scientific research methods; knowledge of groundwater hydraulics, environment, numerical methods in engineering, industry 4.0, and optimal management.
  • Effectively applying knowledge of hydraulics, construction materials, geotechnical engineering, construction techniques, and design of hydraulic engineering projects.
  • Effectively applying knowledge of planning and management of hydraulic engineering projects taking sustainability and environmental friendliness into consideration.

Skills :

  • Research in modeling, evaluation, and simulation of hydraulics – hydrology; design of hydraulic engineering projects; propose solutions on construction techniques, planning, and project management of hydraulic engineering projects; assess the impacts of hydraulic engineering projects on the environment.
  • Applying professional knowledge and skills studied to improve professional qualifications and contribute to professional activities; working independently and in groups, critical thinking and having the ability to solve problems related to the training specialty; skills in writing and presenting technical description documents related to expertise, scientific reports, or projects.

Individual autonomy :

  • Demonstrate professional responsibility and ethics;
  • Proactively improve professional qualifications.

Foreign language before thesis defense

  • Learners must self-study foreign languages and achieve a B2 (level of 4/6) certificate of Vietnam's Foreign Language Competency Framework or equivalent.

Higher education after graduation

  • After graduating with a master's degree in Hydraulic Engineering, students can continue to study to improve their professional qualifications through:
  • Participate in short-term advanced training courses at home and abroad in the Hydraulic Engineering field.
  • Study at the Ph.D. level in Hydraulic Engineering at domestic and foreign institutes/universities..

  • Các Sở, Phòng, Ban quản lý về xây dựng cơ bản, như: Sở xây dựng, Ban quản lý dự án công trình xây dựng các cấp;
  • Các công ty tư vấn khảo sát, thiết kế, thi công và quản lý dự án xây dựng;
  • Quản lý xây dựng cơ bản ở các cơ quan, xí nghiệp sản xuất;

  • Full-time: 24 months; maximum training time: 48 months

Expected enrollment

Currently, the demand for a master's degree in hydraulic engineering in the Mekong Delta is very high. Based on the current training capacity, CTU proposes to enroll 40-50 students each year.

Eligibility for graduation

Graduate students must complete a master's degree program and foreign language requirements before defending their thesis according to Circular No. 15/2014/TT-BGDĐT dated May 15, 2014, of the Ministry of Education and Training.

- Accumulate enough required number of courses and credits outlined in the training program; the GPA must be 5.5 or higher (the 10-point scale) or 2.0 or higher the 4-point scale);

- Have a minimum foreign language level of 4/6 or higher of Vietnam's Foreign Language Competency Framework (i.e. B2 according to the European Framework) or equivalent;

- A thesis score of 5.5 or higher (the 10-point scale);

- Not being prosecuted for criminal responsibility, not being suspended in the last school year due to violating CTU’s regulation.
